DoD stands up joint interagency task force for counter-UAS
The Defense Department is standing up a new military-wide initiative to accelerate the development and fielding of counter-unmanned aerial systems capabilities.
“We recently did a session with the Secretary of Defense, and we are going to stand up a joint interagency task force,” Vice Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. James Mingus said during a Center for Strategic and International Studies event on Wednesday.
“We’ve been trying to advocate this for some time now, and the secretary recently made the decision to allow us to move out on it, because we cannot move fast enough in this space,” Mingus added.
