Federal cyber cuts could pose future security challenges

The federal government could struggle to attract the cyber talent it needs after sizable cuts to its workforce last month.

Some officials and experts say that is already the case.

The Department of Government Efficiency service, which subsumed the U.S. Digital Service when President Trump took office in January, has offered voluntary layoffs to most federal workers through the Office of Personnel Management, and prompted firings of thousands of others.
