Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital in Texas says system hacked, possibly revealing patient data

Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital (NMH) revealed on Tuesday that there has been a data security breach within their system.

NMH said they have become aware of a data security incident that may have resulted in disclosure of the personal information of its patients. NMH has sent letters to potentially affected patients to notify them and to provide information on steps they can take to protect themselves.

On January 31, NMH became aware of a data security incident because of a cyber-attack in which an unauthorized party compromised NMH’s computer network and information systems. When it was discovered, they said, NMH immediately notified law enforcement, initiated its incident response plan, and began an investigation.
