FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force issues update on investigation of Palm Springs vehicle explosion
On Saturday, May 17, at 10:49 a.m., a vehicle exploded in the city of Palm Springs, California, in front of the American Reproductive Centers (ARC) located on North Indian Canyon Drive.
The ARC is a fertility clinic offering fertility services and does not perform abortions. Several buildings in the vicinity of the explosion were damaged.
The JTTF investigation indicates that the suspect had ideations of attacking clinics in the past and had anti-natalist beliefs; that is, that it is morally wrong or unjustifiable to have children. Anti-natalists base their views on a variety of concerns, including human suffering, consent, overpopulation, and the environment.
