It’s been widely reported that the last time kidnap victim Nancy Guthrie’s implanted cardiac pacemaker synched up with her smartphone was around 2 a.m. on Feb. 1, the morning she – the mother of NBC Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie – was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona, home.

The pacemaker stopped transmitting data to her phone presumably because the 84-year-old Guthrie’s cardiac implant was too far out of range. Both Guthrie’s smartphone and AppleWatch were found at her home after she went missing.

Law enforcement have reportedly been in touch with the undisclosed manufacturer of Guthrie’s pacemaker to see if they can remotely gather data from the device that could be helpful to the investigation.
