Russia taps ‘big three’ cloud platforms to direct missile strikes in Ukraine, Kyiv says
Russia is using cloud services from Amazon, Google, and Microsoft to coordinate military operations in Ukraine, a Ukrainian cyber investigation has revealed, according to a UK news report.
Volodymyr Stryan, deputy head of the Kyiv State Cyber Protection Center, has urged the Western tech giants to block access to their services for Russian military users immediately.
He said mobile applications developed in Russia are tapping into satellite maps and real-time weather data hosted on the “big three” tech firms’ cloud platforms to coordinate attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, armed forces and civilians.
