Friendly fire as Iran conflict spreads across Middle East
Three U.S. jet fighters were mistakenly shot down by Kuwaiti air defenses, as a conflict that began with the U.S.-Israeli operation on Iran two days ago widened across the Middle East.
The U.S. and Israel continued to hit Iran, while Israel struck Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, responding to an attack from the Iranian-backed group. The U.S.’s priority is destroying Tehran’s missile arsenal, Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) said, adding that the campaign could take weeks.
Iran launched fresh attacks on Israel and other targets in Gulf countries following the killing of its supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.
