Arizona cyberattack appears to be linked to U.S. bombing of Iran, state cybersecurity chief says
Just days after the United States bombed Iran’s nuclear sites in June, a cyber attack targeted Arizona.
“After the bombing happened, we essentially went shields up here in Arizona, knowing that something was likely to happen,” Arizona cybersecurity chief Ryan Murray said in an interview.
Something did happen: Hackers targeted the Secretary of State’s website.
Cause and effect?
“It certainly seems that way,” Murray said.
