Supply chain resilience
The pandemic showed how a generation’s worth of globalization and outsourcing in aerospace and defense supply chains had compounded operational risk.
The production of commercial airliners and nuclear-powered submarines alike are suffering from cost increases and schedule delays because the quality, availability, and quantity of key inputs are unreliable. Yet, industry and government lack clear visibility into the root causes of supply chain instability and an understanding of how corporate strategies and public policy should adapt.
On Oct. 29 the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security’s Forward Defense program will host a Captains of Industry series event on supply chain resilience for aerospace and defense.
