Europe’s energy transition

“Europe’s energy transition: Balancing the trilemma,” a Brookings project in partnership with the Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos, has examined the balance between the European energy supply’s security, environmental sustainability, and affordability, including topics like the continent’s incomplete “gas divorce” with Russia, the European Union’s green trade agenda, and the energy security and transition picture in Ukraine and on the Iberian Peninsula.

On Oct. 22, the Center on the United States and Europe and the Energy Security and Climate Initiative at Brookings will host a panel discussion with several authors from the project.
