Cyprus on high alert as Tunisian hackers threaten ‘massive’ cyber attack
Critical information infrastructure of the Republic of Cyprus has been placed on high alert since mid-week following threats of a cyber attack.
A group of hackers from Tunisia has announced plans on the dark web and a known communication platform to launch an attack against Cyprus, according to information obtained by philenews. The threat describes the planned attack as “powerful, massive and extensive”.
The dark web announcement includes an invitation for other hackers to participate in the planned assault. The hackers reportedly operate under the name “Tunisian Maskers Cyber Force”. There is no precise information about when they intend to launch the attack.
