Maryland Transit Authority investigating ‘cybersecurity incident’ that may impact back to school travel

Maryland Transit Authority (MTA) officials are investigating a “cybersecurity incident” involving unauthorized access to certain systems, according to a statement.

MTA services, including local buses, metro subways, light rails, MARC, and more remain operational. Mobility paratransit services are operational as well, but cannot schedule new trips or rebook existing trips.

Some MTA services and information systems may be impacted, including real-time information about train arrival/departure times.
